Some English Stuff

hey,

today an English post. Just because, well, actually I don't really know because of what. I just like English, and I felt like writing in English today. Maybe I will make some more English posts in the future, what do you think? It's good for your English (and mine) and sometimes I just don't know how to say something in Dutch, but I do know how to say it in English.

So, since I was posting in English today: a little piece of a book I had to read for school.
Sean Kendrick told me to meet him at the point of the cliffs over Fell Cove, but there's no sign of him when I get there. (...) I wonder, suddenly, if Sean Kendrick sent me here as a prank. Before I have time to consider if he seemed like that sort of person and think something truly foul about him, I hear hoofbeats. I can't tell at once where they're coming from, and then I realize that they're coming from above me. I crane my head up to look. I see a lone horse, stretched out to its fullest, galloping along the edge of the cliffs, bits of turf ploughed up beneath its hooves. I recognize the horse a moment before I recognize the rider - Sean Kendrick, folded up tightly along the stallion's back, moving as one with the horse. As the bloody red capall uisce pounds past me overhead, I see that Sean rides bareback, the most dangerous way of all. Skin to skin, pulse to pulse, nothing to protect you should the horse's magic seize you.
It is from the book The Scorpio Races,(p. 181, 182) written by Maggie Stiefvater. I had already read it in Dutch, but I always like the original books better than the translated ones, so I decided to read it again, in English this time. And it is better. In Dutch is is a good book, in English it is beautiful. Magical. You are drawn into the story and you can't do anything but read, read, until you've read it from the first to the last word.
Since I love horses, that's one of the reasons I really love this book. The descriptions of the horses and the feeling you get when you ride whone, are beautiful.

So, that was my English post. I hope you liked it, and don't mind it's English. I'll upload an English poem soon.

xx Rafa
